Flahavans

This means that the area does not get very cold winters, which gives a better quality oat grain.

Locks Distillery Museum

Locke's Distillery established in 1757 is believed to be the oldest licensed distillery in the world. The three natural raw materials required for distillation were readily available. A ready supply of turf from the bogs, locally grown grain and the pure water from the Brusna River.

Clonmacnoise & West Offaly Railway

Kids love this 9km rail trip through Blackwater Bog, near Shannonbridge. Learn about the bogs, how they were formed and worked through history and even try a little turf cutting! On the journey you will also learn about some of the more interesting archaeological finds in the bog.

Belvedere House & Gardens

Belvedere House Gardens and Park is a magnificent parkland estate on the shores of Lough Ennel in the Irish Midlands. the house, built originally as a hunting and fishing lodge, is set in the midst of 160 acres of parkland on the lake shore.
